ITINERARY:

Day 1 - Arrive Istanbul
You are met and transferred to your hotel. Tonight, we attend a Welcome Briefing with our Tour Director and meet our travelling companions.

Day 2 - Istanbul - Gallipoli - Canakkale
We drive to the Gallipoli Peninsula. Later we see Anzac Cove and visit Lone Pine Cemetery, the Dardanelles and Canakkale. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)

Hotel: Kolin


Day 3 - Canakkale - Troy - Izmir (Smyrna)
In Troy, we see the famous legendary Wooden Horse before a visit to the Acropolis of ancient Pergamon. Then we continue south to Izmir where we have dinner in our hotel tonight. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)

Day 4 - Izmir - Ephesus - St. Mary's House - Pamukkale
Today we visit the extensive excavations at Ephesus with its 2,000 year old marble streets. Our journey continues, pausing at Virgin Mary's stone cottage, to Pamukkale. Dinner is at our hotel. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)

Day 5- Pamukkale - Hierapolis - Antalya (2 nights)
First to the health spa of Hierapolis, then we have an afternoon arrival in the coastal town of Antalya. The rest of the day is free to explore the narrow streets of the fascinating old town. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)

Day 6 - Antalya - Perge and Aspendos Excursion
We visit the impressive Antalya Archaeological Museum, one of the most important in Europe. Then to the Roman cities of Perge and Aspendos where we see the best preserved Roman theatre in the world. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)


Day 7 - Antalya - Konya
See the extraordinary Whirling Dervishes at the former covent in Konya, once the centre for the mystic sect, then on to Karatay Koran School. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)

Day 8 - Konya - Cappadocia (2 nights)
We journey to biblical Cappadocia, then we visit the underground city of Kaymakli and see the cone of Uchisar. Dinner is at our hotel tonight. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)

Day 9 - Cappadocia - Urgup and Goreme Excursion
A full day to explore this unique region of volcanic landscapes, dotted with caves and troglodyte dwellings. Then to our hotel for dinner and overnight stay. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)


Day 10 - Cappadocia - Ankara
We visit the 13th century Seljuk caravansary of Agzikarahan or an alternative if under restoration. At Ankara enjoy a guided sightseeing tour which includes the mausoleum of Ataturk. Dinner is at our hotel tonight. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)

Day 11 - Ankara - Gordion - Bursa
First stop is Gordion, city of King Midas. Then to Bursa, to visit the Green Ottoman Complex and the Grand Mosque. The rest of your day is free to explore. Dinner tonight is at our hotel. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)

Day 12 - Bursa - Istanbul (2 nights)
We board our ferry to cross the Sea of Marmara to Istanbul. The rest of your day is free to explore the vast bustling Grand Bazaar, which is one of the largest covered markets in the world with more than 58 streets and 6,000 shops specialising in jewellery, pottery, spice, and carpets. (Buffet breakfast)

Day 13 - Istanbul sightseeing
This morning we enjoy a guided tour which includes a visit to Topkapi Palace, the church of Hagia Sophia and the wondrous Blue Mosque. Later we enjoy a Farewell Dinner with our Tour Director and travelling companions. (Buffet breakfast / Farewell dinner)


Day 14 - Depart Istanbul
Time to bid farewell to Turkey and your Tour Director as we transfer you to the airport for your return flight home. (Buffet breakfast)
